Do bald people need shampoo? Good question. When Yuchen Long, 14, posted this question on the beta version of a new site called wis.dm on Monday, she got 63 answers in less than three hours, but no clear consensus: while 77% of respondents said no, 23% clicked yes. All those votes made Long’s query one of the most popular on this new breed of social networking site that aims to bring people together based not on their school (as in Facebook), sexy pictures (MySpace) or job (LinkedIn), but rather on their own sense of humor and knack for keeping virtual conversations flowing.
Thật ra Wis.dm gần như Yahoo! Answers với một chút “twist”. Thành công hay không thì vẫn còn khó đoán (có ai biết là Twitter lại phát triển nhanh đến vậy), nhưng theo tôi cái nền tảng này (tạo câu hỏi, trả lời Yes/No) khó mà tạo nên một social network vững mạnh được. Bài viết của Time cũng đã trả lời điều đó.
Now all I need to do is figure out how to make friends on here. The funny thing is, even after asking so many nosy questions on the site, from whether people like eggs over easy to if they ever kissed someone who they weren’t all that attracted to, I’m still a little nervous about asking other wis.dmers to be my friend.
